Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and dedication to improving South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions throughout an engagement along with the company's senior professionals in a strategic planning session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric final exams.
With the 724 156 full-time learners who registered to the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing eighty one% in the registered pupils in the education sector.
These learners reached a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the investment government is generating in the lives of very poor and susceptible small children is yielding a favourable affect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe explained.
